Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam McKnight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan De Jong!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Jong tries to clinch up.
De Jong shoots in for a double leg but McKnight sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McKnight throws a combination that misses

and De Jong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McKnight wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and De Jong manages to pass to side control.

De Jong trying to control from half guard but McKnight is working away.
McKnight is trying to get back to full guard.

De Jong is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But McKnight has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from McKnight!
De Jong controls McKnight momentarily but McKnight frees himself.
De Jong lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Stefan De Jong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Jong is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McKnight to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McKnight shrugs it off.

De Jong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKnight's head.
We've been informed that De Jong has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

McKnight is staying active underneath De Jong, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McKnight has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but De Jong is on him like a limpet, forcing McKnight back against the cage.

De Jong has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McKnight throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Liam McKnight has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McKnight stuffs the takedown attempt from De Jong. De Jong gets slowly back to his feet.
Liam McKnight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stefan De Jong.
McKnight goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
McKnight throws a head kick but De Jong moves out of range.
Stefan De Jong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

and De Jong counters with a shoot takedown. McKnight fights it but they end up in guard.

I would just about give that final round to Stefan De Jong.
