Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kobayashi Jin (ranked 493 p4p, 73 weight class) and Uesugi Mochinori (ranked 465 p4p, 67 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mochinori's choice of entrance music: Japanese Battle Music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uesugi Mochinori!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mochinori defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jin.
Jin misses with a body shot.
Jin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mochinori.
Jin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mochinori has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It looks like Kobayashi Jin has been cut.

Mochinori takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mochinori uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

And Mochinori responds with a good body kick, but Jin manages to step out the way in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kobayashi Jin will probably get the nod.

Jin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mochinori looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mochinori manages to avoid it.
Mochinori lands a head kick. Jin smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Uesugi Mochinori seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
