And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ando Fumiaki!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fumiaki has closed the distance and engaged De Souza in a clinch.
Fumiaki lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Gabriel De Souza has been cut.
A left hand lands to the body for Fumiaki.

De Souza wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
I was talking to De Souza's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

De Souza tightens his grip and picks Fumiaki up, before dumping him to the ground. Fumiaki manages to land in guard.
Fumiaki wants to sweep here but De Souza controlling him for the moment.
Fumiaki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Fumiaki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control De Souza haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

De Souza has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fumiaki avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
De Souza is breathing heavily.

Fumiaki has De Souza pressed against the cage, preventing De Souza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
