PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andy Terror (ranked 3454 p4p, 351 weight class) and Fredson Da Silva Junior (ranked 4470 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Terror!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredson Da Silva Junior!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva Junior tries to close the distance and clinch but Terror swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Terror tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Da Silva Junior shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Terror counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Terror.
Da Silva Junior tries to pull guard but Terror won't allow it.

Terror successfully pulls guard.
Terror is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Terror is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Da Silva Junior is trying to maintain the position but Terror is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terror is just content to waste time from the top position. Da Silva Junior takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Da Silva Junior avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Da Silva Junior has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Terror has passed into side control.

Terror stands up and beckons Da Silva Junior to his feet.
Terror shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Terror or perhaps it was just good defense by Da Silva Junior, which made it look bad.
Da Silva Junior dives in for a single leg takedown but Terror sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Terror lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Andy Terror has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fredson Da Silva Junior.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Terror is defended easily by Da Silva Junior.
Da Silva Junior tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Terror fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Da Silva Junior misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Terror is looking for a counter combo.

Terror closes the distance and pushes Da Silva Junior back into the cage.
Terror drops down looking for an ankle pick but Da Silva Junior pulls his leg out and moves away.
Da Silva Junior misses with a takedown attempt - Terror sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Terror darts in and clinches Da Silva Junior up against the cage.

Terror jumps guard and drags Da Silva Junior to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Da Silva Junior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Terror swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Terror has a closed guard, preventing Da Silva Junior from standing up.

Terror working for submissions but it's allowed Da Silva Junior to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Terror wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Da Silva Junior wants to take a breather but Terror is having none of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Da Silva Junior drops an elbow to the side of Terror's head.
Terror wants to get back to full guard.
Da Silva Junior seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Terror does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Terror tries to roll over but Da Silva Junior keeps him under control.
Da Silva Junior landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Terror dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Terror gets a clinch.

Terror has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Da Silva Junior uses from the top position.

Terror throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Da Silva Junior wants to stand and escape but instead Terror has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Da Silva Junior looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Terror is defending well. Da Silva Junior quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Terror has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Da Silva Junior celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
