Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Conrad!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Conrad as Alvarez shoots in.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Alvarez enables Conrad to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alvarez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Conrad fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alvarez sprawls well initially but Conrad persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Conrad is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alvarez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alvarez has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jesse Conrad showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Alvarez dives in and grabs Conrad's left leg, looking for a takedown. Conrad pushes down on Alvarez's head and hops out.

Conrad moves into range and clinches up with Alvarez.

Conrad turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Conrad stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Conrad gets a double leg takedown into Alvarez's guard.

Conrad drops back looking for a leg! Alvarez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alvarez manages to kick Conrad off! Conrad jumps back into Alvarez's guard.

Alvarez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Conrad defends well.
Alvarez wants to stand and escape but Conrad is having none of it.

Alvarez tries to control Conrad's body but Conrad pushes him off. Alvarez squirms to his side and now Conrad has his back!

Jesse Conrad is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Conrad has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
