The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin just misses with a punch to the body.
Vergys on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hardin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hardin misses with the combination.
Hardin scores with a nice head shot.
Hardin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vergys throws a big counter combination but Hardin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Vergys darts in looking for a takedown but Hardin gets double underhooks and turns Vergys into the cage.
We've been told by Vergys's head coaches at Iron mikes mma that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vergys throws a head kick but Hardin moves out of range.
Vergys is looking to slow Hardin down with leg kicks.
Nice uppercut lands for Hardin. That snapped Vergys's head back.
Vergys throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hardin lands a big head kick that sends Vergys tumbling to the mat! Hardin takes a step backwards and waves Vergys back to his feet - he wants the finish!
