The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Alvarez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alvarez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Edwards attempts a counter takedown but Alvarez avoids it well and moves away.
Alvarez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Alvarez misses with a body shot.
Edwards tries to counter with a takedown but Alvarez is quick to defend against it.
Alvarez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Edwards at a distance.
Alvarez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Edwards back to the cage. Alvarez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Edwards gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Edwards postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Alvarez pushes Edwards away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Edwards gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Edwards wants to control but Alvarez is keeping him busy.
Edwards in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Alvarez is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
