The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Gazimagomedov as Johansson shoots in.
Gazimagomedov looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Johansson doesn't manage to clinch there - Gazimagomedov circles away.
Gazimagomedov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Gazimagomedov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gazimagomedov wants it to stay on the feet.

Johansson tries to close the distance and clinch but Gazimagomedov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gazimagomedov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johansson's guard.

Johansson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gazimagomedov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gazimagomedov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Johansson has his foot on Gazimagomedov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gazimagomedov works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gazimagomedov closes the distance and clinches up with Johansson, looking for a takedown. Gazimagomedov pushes Johansson against the cage but Johansson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've been told by Gazimagomedov's head coaches at Jiu-Jitsu Fighter Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Gazimagomedov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johansson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee asks Gazimagomedov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gazimagomedov prefers to stall for the moment though.
Johansson wants to get back to his feet.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gazimagomedov has hold of Johansson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Johansson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gazimagomedov cranks the arm and Johansson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Johansson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
