PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Syco Souirrel (ranked 2771 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryohei Horie (ranked 2647 p4p, 0 weight class). Syco Souirrel looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Syco Souirrel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryohei Horie!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horie fails in his attempt to clinch.

Horie forces Souirrel back against the cage and clinches.
Horie lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Horie is trying to push Souirrel away but Souirrel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Horie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Souirrel has him pressed against the cage.
Horie misses with some punches.
Souirrel prevents Horie from breaking the clinch.
Souirrel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Horie wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Souirrel tries for a takedown but Horie manages to get underhooks.
Horie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Souirrel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Horie's efforts to push away.

Souirrel gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Horie regains guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Souirrel is one step ahead there.
Souirrel throwing strikes from guard but Horie blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Souirrel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Souirrel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Souirrel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Souirrel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Horie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Souirrel passes into side control.

Souirrel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Horie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Souirrel decides to stand back up.
Horie ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Souirrel is breathing heavily.
Souirrel takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Souirrel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Horie, pushing him back against the cage.
Souirrel is stalling here.

Souirrel manages to break the clinch.
Horie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Souirrel swats away the attempt to clinch by Horie.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Souirrel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Horie pinned against the cage. Horie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A head kick misses from Horie.
Horie throws a sloppy head kick and Souirrel moves out of range easily.
Horie tries to clinch up but Souirrel circles away and keeps his distance.
Horie throws a head kick that misses.
Horie just misses with a punch to the body.
Souirrel gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
