CACC 74 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dollar Hero (ranked 4286 p4p, 385 weight class) and Joshua Brown (ranked 2758 p4p, 297 weight class). Hero comes to the ring accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Brown has chosen Hail Mary Tupac as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 3 losses; Dollar Hero! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Joshua Brown!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hero tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hero to the ground. Hero escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hero closes the distance and clinches.

Hero turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Brown tries to control but Hero manages to take his back.

Hero doesn't have the hooks in and Brown manages to turn into his guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Brown is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brown might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hero haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

It looks like Brown might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hero is pushing down on Brown's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brown is fighting to maintain full guard but Hero has managed to sneak the leg through.
Brown has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hero is working away from the top position though.
Brown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hero's back!

Brown swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hero is now in Brown's guard. A big mistake from Brown there, giving up the dominant position!

Hero takes the fight on points by 16 to 11.
In his post fight interview, Dollar Hero started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
