Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Aldridge (ranked 3996 p4p, 368 weight class) and Robbie Hell (ranked 7431 p4p, 518 weight class). Hell has chosen King of kings by Manowar as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Aldridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robbie Hell!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hell closes the distance and pushes Aldridge back into the cage.
Hell misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aldridge gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Aldridge has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hell drives through and clinches with Aldridge against the cage.
Aldridge blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Knees to the body from Hell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for Hell to work.
Aldridge prevents the takedown attempt.
Hell is trying to pull guard but Aldridge has him pressed against the cage.
I was talking to Aldridge's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Marcus Aldridge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbie Hell.

Hell will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aldridge up against the cage.
Hell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Aldridge avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Aldridge just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hell putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Aldridge in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Aldridge is breathing heavily.
Hell lands a hook to the side of the head.
Aldridge stops a takedown attempt from Hell.
Hell keeps control of Aldridge as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aldridge looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

and Aldridge counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hell drives through and clinches with Aldridge against the cage.
Aldridge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hell tries for a takedown but Aldridge manages to get underhooks.
Hell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hell swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hell lands a nice uppercut.
Hell scores a nice knee to the body.
Hell tries for a takedown but Aldridge manages to get underhooks.
Aldridge wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Aldridge pulls his leg out and moves away.

Hell has Aldridge up against the cage in a clinch.
Hell lands with a short shot to the head.
Hell tries for a takedown. No joy.
A frustrated look appears on Aldridge's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hell lands a shot to the body.
Knees to the body from Hell.
Hell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Aldridge backwards.
A right handed body shot lands from Hell.
Hell lands a left hand.

Hell manages to pull guard.
Hell is trying to control the position but Aldridge postures up.

Hell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hell lands a nice uppercut.
Hell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Aldridge to keep the fight standing.

Hell gets control of Aldridge's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hell will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Hell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Hell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hell fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Marcus Aldridge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A punch combination from Aldridge misses.
Hell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Aldridge avoids it really well and circles away.
Hell fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Aldridge to keep the fight standing.
Hell jumps guard but Aldridge stands there with Hell around his waist. Hell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Aldridge has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Aldridge creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Hell manages to pull guard.
Aldridge has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Hell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Aldridge is trying to escape back to his feet but Hell uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Hell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aldridge has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hell remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Hell throws a strike aimed at the side of Aldridge's head but Aldridge avoids it well.
Hell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Aldridge is avoiding damage well.
Hell is looking to take a break and control but Aldridge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hell misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
You can see the frustration on Aldridge's face as Hell controls the position.
Hell misses with the ground and pound.
Hell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee asks Hell politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hell prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hell is putting a hurting on Aldridge here, landing some big shots from side control.
Aldridge avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hell.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hell wants to control but Aldridge is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Hell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Aldridge closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Aldridge swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Aldridge stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hell looks for a takedown but Aldridge sprawls well.
Hell connects with a body shot that sends Aldridge's belly button to the back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hell connects with a solid leg kick.
Aldridge takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Robbie Hell seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hell drives through and clinches with Aldridge against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hell goes for a takedown attempt but Aldridge pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hell.
Hell is looking to slow Aldridge down with leg kicks.

Hell darts in and clinches Aldridge up against the cage.
Aldridge gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hell.
Marcus Aldridge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbie Hell.
Aldridge prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hell lands a nice uppercut.

Hell misses with some punches.
Hell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aldridge walks away with a smile on his face. Hell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hell lands a nice leg kick that just misses Aldridge's sensitive parts.
Aldridge swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hell is looking to clinch but Aldridge is avoiding it.
Aldridge slaps away a takedown attempt from Hell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Robbie Hell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hell moves into the clinch.
Aldridge's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Aldridge prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hell decides to pull guard.
Hell looking for a sweep. Not yet Hell, not yet.
Hell trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hell is pulling down on Aldridge's head. It's preventing any offense from Aldridge, at least for the moment.

Hell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Aldridge defends well.

Hell is looking to cinch up a triangle. Aldridge throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hell's body to avoid the submission. Hell has instead reached around Aldridge's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hell arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
