The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pereira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pereira is wriggling around but Brown manages to pass to half guard.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brown stops Pereira from getting back to his feet.
Brown scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Brown content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Pereira pushes Brown off but Brown dives into side control.
Pereira looks gassed!

Brown lands an elbow.
Pereira bucks up and tries to throw Brown off but instead Brown has got his back!
Pereira is trying to get back to his feet but Brown has full control of the position and if anything, Pereira has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee is taking a good look at Pereira as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Brown!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
