The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza misses with a straight right.
Souza pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Souza scores with a takedown into Johansson's guard.
Johansson kicks Souza off and gets to his feet.
Johansson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Johansson fails with a takedown attempt.
Souza keeps the fight on the outside.
Johansson throws a front kick that sends Souza stumbling back into the cage.
Johansson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johansson moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.

Souza drops back looking for a leg! Johansson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johansson manages to kick Souza off! Souza jumps back into Johansson's guard.

Souza wants to stand and escape but instead Johansson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.
Souza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Johansson wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Souza trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Souza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Well, if Souza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Johansson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Souza counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Souza stays in close to Johansson's body and controls the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johansson seems a little lost for a moment, as Souza dominates the positioning.
Souza creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johansson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Souza has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Souza throws some wild stikes that Johansson manages to avoid easily.
Souza is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Souza shoots in looking for a takedown but Johansson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Souza's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Johansson is trying to escape the position but Souza is controlling the position.
Souza's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Souza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johansson can do to turn this around?
Souza is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johansson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Souza misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Souza controls the position from side control.
Souza throws a strike aimed at the side of Johansson's head but Johansson avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Johansson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Souza happy to just control the position for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Souza creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johansson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Souza controls the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Souza has hold of Johansson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Johansson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Souza cranks the arm and Johansson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Johansson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Evangelista Souza!
