Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abo Lanch (ranked 6352 p4p, 149 weight class) and Frank Long (ranked 4848 p4p, 0 weight class). Lanch comes to the cage accompanied by Down River. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abo Lanch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Long!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lanch tries to keep at a distance but Long has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lanch doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lanch throws an elbow that misses.
Lanch is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Long to keep the fight standing.
Lanch struggles to land a body shot inside as Long controls his hands.
Long tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lanch's elbow.

Lanch jumps into guard, dragging Long to the mat.

Lanch scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Long closes the distance and pushes Lanch back into the cage.
Long tries to break the clinch but Lanch is controlling the position.

Lanch tries a body shot but Long blocks it.
Long swings wildly with an uppercut but Lanch uses good head movement to avoid it.

Long wants to break free but Lanch has control.

Lanch will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Long up against the cage.
Lanch keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Long's efforts to push away.
Lanch is struggling to control the position.
Long wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lanch has him pressed against the cage.

Lanch pulls Long into guard.

Lanch manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Lanch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Abo Lanch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lanch tries to clinch up but Long circles away and keeps his distance.
Lanch goes for a double leg but Long avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Long continues to drive forward.

Long is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Lanch jumps guard and drags Long to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lanch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lanch tries to get out of the position.

Long stands up and waves to Lanch to follow him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lanch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Long swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lanch moves into range and clinches up with Long.
Long wants to break free but Lanch has control.
Long's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lanch tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lanch jumps guard.
Long trying to control but Lanch is working from the bottom.

Lanch has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Long has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Long is looking to break free of the clinch but Lanch has double underhooks.

Lanch breaks the clinch.
Long misses with a double jab.
Long looks winded!
Long ducks under a wild hook from Lanch.
Long tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Lanch tries to keep at a distance but Long has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lanch ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lanch no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Long must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lanch pushes Long off and scrambles back to his feet.

Long gets a clinch.
Lanch looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Long.

Lanch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Long swats away the attempt to clinch by Lanch.

Long clinches.
Lanch jumps guard but Long stands there with Lanch around his waist. Lanch gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abo Lanch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lanch misses with a body punch.

Lanch prevents Long from breaking the clinch.
Long takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Frank Long has been cut.

A nice left hand lands by Lanch.
Lanch stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Lanch pulls guard.

Lanch has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Long off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Lanch throws a half hearted mid kick.

Lanch clinches.
Lanch blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Lanch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lanch moves into the clinch successfully.

Lanch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Long, pushing him back against the cage.
Lanch lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lanch gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Lanch pulls Long into guard.
Lanch trying to strike off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lanch pushes a forearm under Long's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Long is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Abo Lanch!
A pretty intense looking Abo Lanch took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
