PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryu Takemura (ranked 23654 p4p, 508 weight class) and Spas Spasov (ranked 2404 p4p, 266 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Takemura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spas Spasov!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Takemura throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Spasov moves out of range as Takemura strikes.
Takemura tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spasov was well out of range. Poor timing from Takemura.

Spasov moves into the clinch successfully.
Spasov tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Takemura manages to break the clinch.

Spasov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takemura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryu Takemura will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Spas Spasov.
I think Spasov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
