The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pate is looking to score with low kicks.
Corris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pate's waist but Pate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corris off to one side.
Corris moves out of range of the strikes.
A jab from Pate misses.
Corris thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pate if he has to take too many more of those.
Pate pivots, looking for a leg kick but Corris is out of range and Pate settles back down.
Corris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pate swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pate fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Corris manages to avoid it.
Pate fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Corris checks it well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pate lands a nice short elbow.
