Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricco McGregor (ranked 1522 p4p, 69 weight class) and Thomas Schubert (ranked 951 p4p, 38 weight class). The key to victory for Ricco McGregor has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McGregor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McGregor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schubert feints the counter takedown.
McGregor fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
McGregor connects with a body shot that sends Schubert's belly button to the back.

McGregor tries to kick Schubert off in order to stand up. Schubert Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schubert is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McGregor will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Let's hope that Schubert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Schubert is persistently looking for the submission but McGregor is defending it well.
We've been hearing good reports from McGregor's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schubert is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But McGregor has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from McGregor!
McGregor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Schubert has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McGregor doesn't defend quickly enough and Schubert has managed to lock this one up! Can McGregor escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Schubert on a fantastic submission victory.
