PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kristof Napz (ranked 5083 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ignacy Zawadzki (ranked 3849 p4p, 366 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kristof Napz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kristof Napz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kristof Napz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ignacy Zawadzki!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zawadzki tries for a takedown but Napz circles away easily
and Napz counters with a series of strikes. Zawadzki will be more careful next time no doubt.

Napz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Napz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Zawadzki has his foot on Napz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Napz works his way back into a safe position though.

Napz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Napz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zawadzki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Napz has managed to get both his arms back between Zawadzki's legs - danger averted.
Napz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Zawadzki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zawadzki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Napz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Napz tries to get out of the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zawadzki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Napz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zawadzki for as long as he can get away with.
