Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Datboy On!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says On as he avoids it easily.
On stuffs the takedown.
On shoots in but no luck this time.
On tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
On feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pauls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
On tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Paul fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paul shoots in for a double leg but On sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
On is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
On stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and On wants it to stay on the feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Paul or perhaps it was just good defense by On, which made it look bad.

On drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Paul wriggles free and stands up.
On darts in looking for a takedown but Paul gets double underhooks and turns On into the cage.

Paul shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as On sprawls well. On wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Paul gets slowly back to his feet.

On jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Paul dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on On. That did some damage!
Paul looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? On is fending him off so far but Paul persists. Nope, On circles away and we're back to standing.
Paul has a takedown stuffed.
On shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paul sprawls well. Paul wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. On gets slowly back to his feet.
Paul wants to clinch.

Paul stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Paul wants it to stay on the feet.
Paul leaves On with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
On tries to clinch but Paul moves out of range.
On lands a nice leg kick that just misses Paul's sensitive parts.
Paul misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
On throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A close round but Datboy On will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Paul is defended easily by On.
Jay Paul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Paul has taken the fight to the clinch.
On tries to pull guard but Paul won't allow it.
On is pressed up against the cage. Paul has hold of a leg and is looking to drag On down to the mat. On avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Paul tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but On swivels and escapes.

Paul changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

On misses with a takedown attempt - Paul sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Paul throws a right hand that On ducks under and follows up with a left that On also avoids with ease.
Paul closes this distance looking for a takedown but On circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

On closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Paul quickly recovers to half guard.
Jay Paul overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
On throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Paul to regain full guard.
On works over Paul with some ground and pound from guard.
Paul wants to stand and escape but On is having none of it.

On is looking to pass into half guard but Paul pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Paul is in guard.

Paul throws a big right hand that misses.

On looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Paul stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Paul throws a series of punches but On avoids them all with ease.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fight stays on the outside here - On looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Paul fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
On wants to counter the offense by Paul and move into the clinch position.
On shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paul but Paul pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Paul shoots in and drives through. On sprawls well.
Paul has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from On finds it's way round the side to connect with Paul's head.
On is looking to clinch.
On tries for a takedown but Paul sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Paul looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
On tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Paul misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
On slips under a jab from Paul.
Paul shoots in but no luck this time.

On has taken the fight to the clinch.
On gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Paul.

Paul is trying to work for a single leg takedown but On pulls him back up using the underhooks.
On tries for a takedown but Paul manages to get underhooks.
On tries to pull guard but Paul holds him up against the cage and eventually On drops back down to his feet.

On replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Paul blocks it well.
Paul tries for a takedown but On sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A close second round but Datboy On will probably get the nod - 10:9.

On is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Paul to keep the fight standing.
Paul tries for a takedown but On manages to get underhooks.

On breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
On fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Paul throws a series of strikes that have On backpedaling.
On fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Paul.

Paul has On up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
On is defending well against a takedown attempt.
On has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Paul is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jay Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Datboy On.
Paul tries to pull guard but On holds him up against the cage and eventually Paul drops back down to his feet.

Paul is pulling down on On's head to control his posture.

Paul looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
On wants to stand but Paul is controlling his posture from full guard.
On throws an elbow that misses. Paul uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in On's guard. Nice move by Paul!

On really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paul. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paul wants to control from the top but On keeps moving.

Paul loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Paul gets to his feet - On follows without any prompting.
On avoids the head kick by Paul.
Jay Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
On will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Paul tries to score a body lock takedown but On shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

On lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
On goes for a double leg but Paul avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paul continues to drive forward.
Paul is looking to counter the offense by On and move into the clinch.
On shoots in for a double leg but Paul sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As On looks to move away, Paul throws a big counter combo but On just gets out of the way.
Paul looks for a takedown but On sprawls well.
On unleashes a big counter combination but Paul bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
On cracks the inside of Paul's front leg.
On darts in looking for a takedown but Paul gets double underhooks and turns On into the cage.
