PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Abbot (ranked 25309 p4p, 555 weight class) and Bronson Komaroff (ranked 7925 p4p, 541 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Chuck Abbot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bronson Komaroff!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abbot has managed to clinch.
Komaroff drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Abbot gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Abbot has Komaroff pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Komaroff manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Abbot lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Bronson Komaroff has been cut.
Abbot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Abbot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Abbot. No joy for Komaroff on that attempt.
Abbot seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Abbot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Abbot feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Komaroff's calf.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Komaroff is defended easily by Abbot.

Abbot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Komaroff swivels and escapes.
And Komaroff tries to counter it with a takedown but Abbot pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Abbot closes the distance and clinches.
Komaroff drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Abbot gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Komaroff counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Abbot!

Komaroff tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Komaroff wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Abbot, who protects the arm well.

Abbot bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Abbot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Komaroff is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Abbot's half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Abbot manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abbot closes the distance and pushes Komaroff back into the cage.

Komaroff is looking for a triangle but Abbot pushes his legs off easily.

Good leg kick by Abbot there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Komaroff shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Abbot manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abbot connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Abbot tries to clinch up but Komaroff circles away and keeps his distance.
Komaroff is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Komaroff on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Abbot. Abbot obviously looking to wear him down.

Komaroff shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abbot napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Komaroff swings around for an armbar but Abbot sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Komaroff's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abbot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Komaroff is looking to cinch up a triangle. Abbot throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Komaroff's body to avoid the submission. Komaroff has instead reached around Abbot's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Komaroff arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bronson Komaroff!
