PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Gulyas (ranked 4433 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Hart (ranked 5826 p4p, 0 weight class). Hart has chosen I hate myself and want to die as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart throws a series of punches but Gulyas moves out of range.
Hart throws a nice looking combination but Gulyas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gulyas attempts a counter takedown but Hart avoids it well and moves away.

Hart feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gulyas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hart postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gulyas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hart, into his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hart bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gulyas's guard.

Hart gets to his feet - Gulyas follows without any prompting.
Gulyas fails to land the takedown.
Hart swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hart clinches up against the cage.

Hart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gulyas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hart swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hart checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hart is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Gulyas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hart moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hart appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Gulyas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gulyas moves in looking to clinch but Hart pushes him off.

Hart fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gulyas, pushing him back against the cage.

Hart lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

It looks like Ahmad Gulyas has been cut.

Hart breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gulyas looks for a takedown but Hart sprawls well.

Gulyas has hold of Hart's hands but Hart slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hart connects with a nice short shot to Gulyas's temple.

Hart lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hart stands up and beckons Gulyas to join him on the feet.

and Hart holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gulyas tries to break free but Hart pushes him back against the cage.

Hart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hart moves into range and clinches up with Gulyas.

Hart's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hart closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gulyas is trying to break the clinch but Hart is controlling him.

Gulyas shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense.

Hart wants to counter the offense by Gulyas and move into the clinch position.
Gulyas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hart defends well and Gulyas ends up having to push Hart into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gulyas enables Hart to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gulyas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hart gets to his feet. Gulyas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Well Hart has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
