The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marshall enables Barlow to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marshall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Barlow postures up.
Barlow lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Barlow chips away with some ground and pound.
Marshall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Marshall tries to get out of the position.
Barlow wants to get up but he can't break Marshall's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Barlow is looking to work some ground and pound but Marshall has wrist control.
Barlow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Barlow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barlow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
