The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog with a hook.
Herrera shoots in but Dog avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Dog darts in and clinches Herrera up against the cage.
Dog has Herrera pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Herrera manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dog lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Dog gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Dog tries to stall but Herrera uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Herrera drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Herrera tries to pull guard but Dog holds him up against the cage and eventually Herrera drops back down to his feet.
Rocco Dog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of German Herrera.

Herrera gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Herrera wants to work for an arm triangle but Dog is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dog drives through and clinches with Herrera against the cage.
Dog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Herrera just stands there and leans against the cage.
Herrera fails to pull guard.

Dog breaks from the clinch.
Dog tries for a takedown but Herrera circles away easily

and Herrera counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dog won't be happy with that.

Herrera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dog has escaped the position, nice work there.
Herrera looks gassed!
Dog wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herrera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dog is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Herrera's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
