Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kurt Shann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anders Silver!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shann moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Silver lands a jab-cross combination.
Shann throws a series of punches but Silver avoids them all with ease.
Silver throws a jab when Shann was well out of range.
Shann misses with a wild combination.
Silver looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Shann lands a jab.
Silver connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shann. Shann circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silver throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shann throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Silver cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shann on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Silver. Silver obviously looking to wear him down.
Shann closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Silver crashing to the mat! Silver uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
Silver is rocked!
A combination from Silver does no damage.
Silver is still on wobbly legs! Can Shann finish him?
Shann throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silver holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Silver tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Shann misses with a hook from the clinch.
Silver throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Shanns head.
Silver seems to have recovered his senses.
Silver breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shann catches Silver napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Silver crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Shann raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kurt Shann!
A very excited looking Kurt Shann made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
