PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bazzyace Dorganio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mauricio rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorganio comes to the cage accompanied by Young Savage. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rua stuffs the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dorganio.
A combination from rua does no damage.
Dorganio shoots in but rua avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bazzyace Dorganio. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dorganio holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Dorganio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. rua sprawls well initially but Dorganio persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
rua is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dorganio's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dorganio's back!

rua is trying to stick to Dorganio's back but Dorganio is turning into rua. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in rua's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dorganio.

Dorganio trying to control the position from guard on top but rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dorganio postures up.
Dorganio is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dorganio wants to control from the top but rua keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
rua avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dorganio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

rua throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
rua can't escape the position.
Dorganio takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dorganio tries to control but rua wriggling away.

rua is trying desperately to improve position.

Dorganio jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but rua manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dorganio tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Dorganio throwing strikes but rua manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Check out the look on rua's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Dorganio wants to control but rua postures up.

rua has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dorganio shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and rua counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dorganio!

rua moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dorganio has worked his arm free - good work by Dorganio!

Dorganio sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

rua looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dorganio manages to escape and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bazzyace Dorganio will probably get the nod.

rua looks to land a combination but Dorganio avoids it well.
Dorganio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of rua's head.

Dorganio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
rua is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dorganio can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as rua is looking to escape.
rua is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dorganio is stalling here but it's allowed rua to get half guard.
Dorganio seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but rua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dorganio is trying to control. rua wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dorganio gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dorganio moves into range and clinches up with rua.

Dorganio turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dorganio manages to end up in side control.

Dorganio is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. rua looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dorganio gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. rua is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dorganio lets go of the hold and rua can pop his arm back in it's socket.
