Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kayl Boulder (ranked 24684 p4p, 24507 weight class) and Earl Fonalleda (ranked 706 p4p, 727 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kayl Boulder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Earl Fonalleda!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulder is looking to clinch.
Fonalleda is looking for the big counter here.
Boulder shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fonalleda counters with a left and a right that stings Boulder.

Fonalleda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boulder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fonalleda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boulder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fonalleda looking to control but instead Boulder has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Boulder wants to control but Fonalleda is keeping busy.
Fonalleda has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA New York. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Boulder is refusing to be controlled, as Fonalleda sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boulder is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fonalleda pulls his head out easily.

Boulder is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fonalleda defends well.

Boulder is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boulder has momentary wrist control but Fonalleda slips an elbow through the middle.
Fonalleda must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boulder is trying to keep Fonalleda in close.

Boulder is working an open guard so Fonalleda takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fonalleda misses with a head kick.
Boulder fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fonalleda avoids it really well and circles away.
Boulder shoots in but Fonalleda avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kayl Boulder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boulder shoots in and drives through. Fonalleda sprawls well.

Boulder shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Boulder showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Boulder is working for a kimura but Fonalleda is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Earl Fonalleda will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Fonalleda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boulder's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boulder is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fonalleda throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boulder works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fonalleda lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Oh Boulder is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fonalleda is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Fonalleda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fonalleda postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Boulder covers up, he's hurt! Fonalleda keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Fonalleda and the ref steps in to end the fight! Fonalleda can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Earl Fonalleda!
