Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, California Waiting. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez throws a shot from downtown. Gonzalez moves away and avoids it.
Nice takedown defense from Gonzalez. No joy for Velasquez on that attempt.

Velasquez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Velasquez lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Gonzalez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velasquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velasquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gonzalez wants to reverse the position here. Velasquez has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Gonzalez is forced to tap! Gonzalez looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.
