The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kambala misses with a takedown attempt - Armstrong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kambala looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kambala throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Armstrong pushes Kambala off looking to stand but Kambala dives back in and keeps control.
Armstrong gets back to full guard.

Armstrong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kambala looking to sit in guard and control but Armstrong gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Armstrong advances position into side control!

Kambala stops Armstrong from passing to mount.
Armstrong controlling from side mount.
Armstrong has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Armstrong working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Armstrong is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Kambala looks calm but he's in trouble here. Armstrong gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Kambala is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Armstrong lets go of the hold and Kambala can pop his arm back in it's socket.
