Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Talon Orion (ranked 1111 p4p, 1351 weight class) and Frank Diaz (ranked 139 p4p, 164 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Talon Orion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Talon Orion!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orion throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt.
Orion swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Diaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A solid leg kick lands there for Orion.

Diaz feints and as Orion raises his hands in defense, Diaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diaz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Diaz stands up over Orion, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Orion keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Orion is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diaz is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Orion has Diaz pulled in close to control his posture.
Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Orion works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
An inside leg kick from Orion misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Diaz.

Diaz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Orion to the ground. Diaz is now in Orion's guard.
Orion wants to stand up but Diaz is controlling him.
Diaz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Orion keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Diaz passes into half guard.
Orion wants to get back to his feet.
Orion trying to control but Diaz postures up.
Diaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Orion pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.

Orion is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Diaz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Diaz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Diaz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Orion is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.
Orion wants to get back to full guard.
Diaz not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Orion is staying active underneath Diaz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Diaz missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Orion kicks off Diaz and gets to his feet.
Orion scores with a jab to the body.

Diaz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Orion not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz is working Orion over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Orion keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Orion manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Diaz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Orion pulls his leg out and moves away.
Talon Orion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Diaz.

Orion gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Orion wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Talon Orion will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Diaz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Orion avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Diaz.
Orion is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Elite Underground Training Facility, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Orion does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Orion is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Diaz is looking to work some ground and pound but Orion has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Orion is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Orion has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Diaz is trying to keep Orion in close.

Diaz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Orion passes into half guard.
Orion tries to pass to full mount but Diaz defends it.
Orion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
Frank Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Diaz is trying to control but Orion passes into side control!
Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Orion off and has taken his back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Orion defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Orion just trying to survive but Diaz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Diaz struggling to keep hold of the position.

Diaz has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Orion is in real trouble here. Diaz gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Orion is tapping out! Diaz wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Frank Diaz!

Talon Orion was interviewed post fight and said 'Yeah, yeah. He beat me. He came for the title.. he wanted it, he got it. Congratulations my friend. I will be back for it very soon....'.
