PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Toews (ranked 5514 p4p, 473 weight class) and Bert Hardman (ranked 3901 p4p, 396 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Toews might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Till I Collapse. On his way into the cage it seems that Jonathan Toews has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jonathan Toews seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Toews as he jumps to the side.

Hardman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hardman manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hardman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toews. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toews manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hardman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Toews with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hardman winds up and cracks Toews with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hardman is looking to take a break and control but Toews is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hardman lands a nice short elbow.

Toews quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hardman has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Toews celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
