Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gross (ranked 3868 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kraisee Watakeekul (ranked 2149 p4p, 0 weight class). Watakeekul has chosen Buakaw Por Pramuk as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Gross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kraisee Watakeekul!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gross closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gross lands in his opponent's guard.
Gross thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gross drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gross jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gross scoring with punches to the head and body.
Gross is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Watakeekul manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Watakeekul can't find room to land a body shot as Gross controls the action.
Gross drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Watakeekul gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Watakeekul throws a punch but it's blocked by Gross.
Gross blocking some punches.
Watakeekul with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
With the fighters up against the cage, Watakeekul throws an elbow but misses.
Watakeekul misses with a punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gross avoiding damage as Watakeekul throws knees to the body.
Gross is trying to break the clinch but Watakeekul has him pressed against the cage.
Gross tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Watakeekul scores a nice knee to the body.
Watakeekul swings wildly with an uppercut but Gross uses good head movement to avoid it.
Watakeekul can't find room to land a body shot as Gross controls the action.
Gross pulls Watakeekul into guard.
Watakeekul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gross is on top in guard.
Watakeekul keeping full guard, as Gross tries to pass.
Gross is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Gross trying to control but Watakeekul is working from the bottom.
Gross cracks Watakeekul with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gross won't allow Watakeekul to get back to his feet.
Gross content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gross scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Gross pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Watakeekul is keeping the position for now.
Gross passes Watakeekul's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Gross is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Watakeekul has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Watakeekul wants to get back to his feet.
Gross in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Watakeekul tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gross!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rob Gross!
Rob Gross really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that NEVERMIND logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
