Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Deiveison Formiga (ranked 7066 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Randall (ranked 5620 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that James Randall was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Deiveison Formiga! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; James Randall!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Randall misses with a takedown attempt - Formiga sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Formiga changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Randall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Formiga sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Randall somewhat.
Formiga drops down looking for a counter takedown but Randall sprawls and moves away.
Deiveison Formiga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Randall.

Randall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Formiga swivels and escapes.

Formiga seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Randall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Formiga is trying to control. Randall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Formiga is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Formiga tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Formiga is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Randall has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Formiga looking to secure an arm triangle but Randall defends it well.
Formiga fails to take his opponent's back.

Formiga working for a submission but Randall is keeping him at bay.
Formiga controlling from the full mount.

Formiga looking for a guillotine from mount but Randall is having none of it.
Formiga takes Randall's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Randall is in trouble.

I would not like to be Randall right now.
Formiga trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Formiga has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Randall is in real trouble here. Formiga gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Randall is tapping out! Formiga wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Deiveison Formiga!
A less than humble Deiveison Formiga misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
