The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carton closes the distance but Khan moves to the side

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Khan passes into side control, despite Carton's attempt to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carton can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carton is looking for a sweep.
Carton is being controlled here.
Khan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan gets to mount! Carton was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Khan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Carton tries to lock up and control but Khan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Carton looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Khan! Submission of the night perhaps?
