Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Punch McDermott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Whaddaboutt Bob!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McDermott to score with a decent uppercut.
McDermott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bob.
McDermott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A telegraphed right hand from McDermott misses the target.
It seemed like Bob was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McDermott throws a jab but it's blocked by Bob.
A countering left hand to the body from Bob misses.
Bob thuds his right hand into McDermott's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

McDermott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bob circles away quickly and effectively.
It seemed like Bob was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McDermott lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
McDermott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bob doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McDermott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bob circles away quickly and effectively.
Bob's corner calls for a 1-2. Bob obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McDermott works over Bob's head and body with a nice combination.

Bob takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A left lands for McDermott.
McDermott scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Bob looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like McDermott was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
McDermott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bob.
McDermott scores with a jab to the body.
Bob walks into a straight right hand from McDermott.
McDermott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bob doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
McDermott fails to land with a series of punches.

McDermott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McDermott tries to work over Bob's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A little jabbing left from Bob on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Punch McDermott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bob cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bob lands with a shot to the body.
Bob throws out a loose jab but McDermott uses good head movement to avoid it.
Whaddaboutt Bob is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A combination from McDermott does no damage.
Bob is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McDermott.
McDermott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bob was well out of range. Poor timing from McDermott.
Bob fails to land with a series of punches.
McDermott misses with a combination
and Bob counters with a straight right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bob fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McDermott manages to avoid it.
McDermott takes a swing at Bob's ribcage but misses.
McDermott closes the distance and clinches up with Bob, looking for a takedown. McDermott pushes Bob against the cage but Bob circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bob on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McDermott throws a body punch but Bob moves out of range.
Bob swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
McDermott misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Punch McDermott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McDermott moves away from the strike by Bob.
McDermott shoots in but Bob avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bob misses with a jab, cross combination.
McDermott looks to throw the jab but Bob is out of range.
McDermott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McDermott tries to clinch but Bob is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDermott misses with a two punch combination.
McDermott uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bob.
McDermott throws a body punch but Bob moves out of range.

Sloppy strikes from McDermott. Those never looked like landing.
Bob uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McDermott.
McDermott throws a series of punches but Bob avoids them all with ease.
Bob throws a jab but it's blocked by McDermott.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bob keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McDermott.

McDermott moves into range and clinches up with Bob.
Bob throws an elbow but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Punch McDermott dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


McDermott throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bob throws a shot to the body.
McDermott takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


It looks like Punch McDermott has been cut.
Bob connects with a crisp jab.

Bob catches McDermott with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and McDermott forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
