Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Knuckles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki has chosen come as you are as his entrance music. Shinya Aoki will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knuckles shoots in but Aoki avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Knuckles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aoki stuffs the takedown attempt from Knuckles. Knuckles gets slowly back to his feet.
Aoki misses with a double jab.
Aoki fails to land with a series of punches.

Knuckles darts in and clinches Aoki up against the cage.

Aoki is fighting off a takedown attempt but Knuckles is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Aoki to the mat. Aoki regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Aoki is looking to stand up but Knuckles isn't so interested in that idea.
Knuckles wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving.

Knuckles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Aoki scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Aoki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Aoki looks to land a combination but Knuckles avoids it well.
Knuckles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Knuckles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Knuckles shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Aoki stuffs the takedown attempt from Knuckles. Knuckles gets slowly back to his feet.
Shinya Aoki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Knuckles is breathing heavily.
Aoki lands a two punch combo.
A combination from Aoki does no damage.
No luck for Knuckles with that takedown attempt.

Knuckles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aoki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Aoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Knuckles shoots in looking for a takedown. Aoki tries to sprawl out of it but Knuckles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aoki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Knuckles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aoki's waist but Aoki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Knuckles off to one side.
Aoki misses with the combination.
Aoki's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Aoki duly obliges.

Aoki lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Knuckles shoots in for a double leg but Aoki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Knuckles feints and as Aoki raises his hands in defense, Knuckles changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Knuckles wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving.
Aoki wants to stand and escape but Knuckles is having none of it.

Aoki throws a head kick but Knuckles moves out of range.

Knuckles shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aoki's guard.

Aoki has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Knuckles off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Knuckles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knuckles wants to control but Aoki is keeping him busy.

Knuckles comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Knuckles clinches with his opponent.
Knuckles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aoki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Aoki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Knuckles is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Aoki can't fight it off and eventually Knuckles manages to take the fight to the floor. Aoki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Aoki looks like he's trying to stand up.
Knuckles is taking a breather. Aoki says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Aoki tries to kick Knuckles off but Knuckles keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Knuckles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aoki for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
