Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Donny King (ranked 4880 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Mullen (ranked 6953 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mullen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. King manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

King went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
King loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
King won't allow Mullen to get back to his feet.
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mullen has his feet on King's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Mullen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.

King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mullen on his heels. He'll look to pass Mullen's guard now, I'm sure.

King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mullen moves away.

Mullen throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.

and King counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by King.

Mullen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

King drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mullen sprawls and moves away.
No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mullen changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mullen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mullen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.
Sloppy strikes from King. Those never looked like landing.
Mullen wants to counter with a clinch but King pushes him away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mullen.

King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mullen was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mullen is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.

Mullen has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. King is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

King manages to break the clinch.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King lands with a slapping head kick.

King drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

King decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mullen to his feet.

Mullen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mullen.

It looks like Donny King has been cut.

King darts in and clinches Mullen up against the cage.

King has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mullen uses from the top position.

King has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mullen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King shoots in for a double leg but Mullen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mullen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

King quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Donny King will probably get the nod.

Mullen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. King doesn't seem bothered though.
Mullen lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mullen.

Mullen fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops King to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! King looks to clinch but Mullen throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! King taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
