Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dechlan Tomsett (ranked 6049 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Perry (ranked 6463 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Perry's choice of entrance music: Carolus Rex. Dechlan Tomsett could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Perry's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dechlan Tomsett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Perry!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tomsett throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Perry tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tomsett is in Perry's guard.
Perry wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Tomsett manages to pass to side control.

Perry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tomsett lands strikes from half guard.
Tomsett takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Perry is not content to let Tomsett control the position.
Perry slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tomsett is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Perry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tomsett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tomsett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tomsett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perry keeps working.

Perry somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

We've been informed that Perry has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Tomsett throws a head kick but Perry moves out of range.

Tomsett gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tomsett is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Perry is defending well for now.

Perry is trying to pull guard but Tomsett has him pressed against the cage.

Tomsett jumps guard and drags Perry to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Perry looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tomsett is fending him off so far but Perry persists. Nope, Tomsett circles away and we're back to standing.

Perry shoots in but no luck this time.
Tomsett slaps away a takedown attempt from Perry, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Perry tries to get set, Tomsett tries to push him back and clinch up but Perry manages to avoid the attempt.

Tomsett has closed the distance and engaged Perry in a clinch.
Perry changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tomsett fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Tomsett decides to stand up, so the ref orders Perry to his feet.

Perry is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tomsett dives into side control.

Perry is not content to let Tomsett control the position.

Tomsett stands up and beckons Perry to his feet.
Perry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tomsett closes the distance and pushes Perry back into the cage.

Tomsett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tomsett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tomsett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tomsett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perry closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tomsett circles away.

Tomsett is trying to control the action in half guard but Perry is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, if Tomsett is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Perry takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tomsett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perry's guard.

Tomsett content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Tomsett is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Perry is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
