PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hector Chainsaw (ranked 4670 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uwe Bachler (ranked 4573 p4p, 0 weight class). Chainsaw comes to the cage accompanied by Rolling Stones - Start me up. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hector Chainsaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Uwe Bachler!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bachler throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Hector Chainsaw has been cut.
Bachler lands a nice looking body kick.

Bachler lands a big head kick that sends Chainsaw tumbling to the mat! Bachler takes a step backwards and waves Chainsaw back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Chainsaw is rocked!
Chainsaw misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oh Chainsaw is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chainsaw drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chainsaw has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bachler is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Chainsaw seems to have got his legs back now.

Bachler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chainsaw defends it easily.

Chainsaw postures up in Bachler's guard and throws a big left but Bachler blocks it.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Chainsaw wanted to stand there but Bachler had control of the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bachler throws a nice looking combination but Chainsaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Chainsaw clinches up with Bachler and pushes him back against the cage.
Chainsaw using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bachler has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Chainsaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Chainsaw manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bachler on his heels. He'll look to pass Bachler's guard now, I'm sure.

Bachler manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Chainsaw wants to take the fight to the mat but Bachler manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chainsaw will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bachler up against the cage.
Bachler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chainsaw is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bachler manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chainsaw shoots in and bounces Bachler off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bachler is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chainsaw misses with a low kick.
Bachler ducks under a wild hook from Chainsaw.
Chainsaw takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Chainsaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bachler's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bachler kicks Chainsaw off and gets to his feet.
Chainsaw has a takedown stuffed.
Bachler lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Bachler blocks a head kick by Chainsaw.
Bachler lands a high kick!
A combination from Bachler does no damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uwe Bachler dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hector Chainsaw's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Chainsaw takes the fight into the clinch.
Bachler wants a takedown.
Bachler is trying to pull guard but Chainsaw has him pressed against the cage.

Chainsaw has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bachler clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Bachler manages to stand up with Chainsaw still on his back. Eventually Chainsaw drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Uwe Bachler seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Chainsaw gets a double leg takedown into Bachler's guard.

Bachler has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Chainsaw has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chainsaw has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Chainsaw tries to pull guard but Bachler won't allow it.

Chainsaw ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chainsaw no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Chainsaw is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chainsaw wants to sweep here but Bachler controlling him for the moment.
Bachler passes Chainsaw's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Chainsaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chainsaw tries to get out of the position.

Bachler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chainsaw keeps working.
Bachler has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Chainsaw is looking for a sweep.
Chainsaw is trying to escape the position but Bachler is controlling the position.
Bachler tries to advance to mount but can't.
Chainsaw tries to buck Bachler off but Bachler is having none of it.
Chainsaw is working hard here to advance position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chainsaw throws a head kick but Bachler moves out of range.
Chainsaw fails with the takedown
and Bachler counters with a nice kick to the body.
Bachler fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Chainsaw takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bachler.
Hector Chainsaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uwe Bachler.
Bachler is breathing heavily.

and Chainsaw holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Chainsaw - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Chainsaw pulls Bachler into guard.
Bachler throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bachler stands and throws Chainsaw's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bachler tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uwe Bachler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Bachler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chainsaw paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chainsaw tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bachler manages to circle out of the way.
A head kick misses from Chainsaw.
Hector Chainsaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Chainsaw has Bachler up against the cage in a clinch.
Bachler jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chainsaw walks away with a smile on his face. Bachler gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bachler tries to sprawl but Chainsaw drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Bachler turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bachler.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Chainsaw throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bachler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chainsaw is in Bachler's guard.

Chainsaw is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bachler is on top in guard.

Chainsaw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bachler defends well.

Bachler prevents Chainsaw from getting back to his feet.

Bachler stands up from Chainsaw's guard - Bachler perhaps looking for a knockout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chainsaw keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Chainsaw instigates a clinch.
Chainsaw avoiding damage.
Chainsaw tries to pull guard but Bachler forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Chainsaw lands a takedown into guard.
Chainsaw looking to sit in guard and control but Bachler gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Chainsaw is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hector Chainsaw.
I think Bachler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
