Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Altair Brain (ranked 2173 p4p, 235 weight class) and Daniel Sainty (ranked 2486 p4p, 263 weight class). Brain's entrance music is 300 Violin. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sainty.
Brain is being controlled here.
Brain tries to bench press Sainty off him but Sainty keeps the position.
Brain is working hard here to advance position.
Sainty tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brain's legs.
Brain trying to control but Sainty flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

That was a close round but I would say that Altair Brain will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sainty ducks under a wild hook from Brain.
Brain works Sainty's body with a nice hook.
Brain leaves Sainty with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sainty avoids a kick to the body.

Brain lands a high kick to the side of Sainty's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Brain dives into guard, looking to finish.

Brain is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sainty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sainty manages to get to full guard.
Brain trying to control the position from guard on top but Sainty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sainty trying to keep a closed guard but Brain is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Brain throws a jab but it's blocked by Sainty.
Brain pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brain misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sainty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sainty throws a body shot but no joy.
Brain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sainty connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brain scrambles back to his feet.
Sainty on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Brain throws a sloppy head kick and Sainty moves out of range easily.
Brain thows a left - swing and a miss!

Sainty darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Brain makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Altair Brain dominated that second round.
That's time! Brain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Sainty looks for the body kick but Brain saw that one coming.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brain, right into the meat.

Sainty gets tackled into the cage by Brain. Brain maintains the clinch.
Sainty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brain smiles and moves away.
Brain throws a push kick but Sainty slaps the foot to one side.
Sainty misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brain.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sainty closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brain to the mat! Brain manages to get full guard.
Brain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brain is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sainty can do to turn this around?
Sainty wants to control from the top but Brain keeps moving.

Altair Brain is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Brain misses with a head kick.
Sainty is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Sainty throws a front kick aimed at Brain's knee but Brain avoids it well.

Sainty moves into the clinch.
Brain tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Sainty pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sainty ducks under a wild hook from Brain.
Sainty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brain tries to avoid it but Sainty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brain to the ground. Brain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sainty tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Sainty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brain tries to avoid it but Sainty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brain to the ground. Brain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Altair Brain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Sainty.

Altair Brain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Altair Brain.
Well Brain has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
