Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joao Lopez (ranked 5314 p4p, 448 weight class) and Xavier Lane (ranked 3685 p4p, 366 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Xavier Lane!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez tries to clinch up.
Lane now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Xavier Lane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lane connects with a looping right hand.
Lopez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lane's waist but Lane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lopez off to one side.
Lopez looks to clinch
and Lane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lopez tries to clinch but Lane is having none of it.
Lopez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lane lands a jab to Lopez's midsection.

Lane moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lopez pulls guard.
Lopez is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lopez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lane passes into half guard.

Lane tries to stand and escape but Lopez actually recovers to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lopez is on top in guard.

Lopez won't allow Lane to get back to his feet.
Lane pulls Lopez in to control the position.

Lopez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lopez throws a big right hand that misses.

Lopez gets to his feet - Lane follows without any prompting.

Lane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lopez, pushing him back against the cage.
Lane scores with a shoulder strike.

Lane breaks the clinch.
Lane connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lane sizes up Lopez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Lane closes the distance and clinches.
Lane lands a shot to the body.
Lopez takes a shot to the head.

Lopez is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Lane.
Oh Lopez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lopez is breathing heavily.

Lane breaks from the clinch.
Lane scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lopez doesn't seem bothered though.
Lopez seems to have got his legs back now.

Lane clinches up with Lopez and pushes him back against the cage.

Lane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lopez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A jab from Lane does it's job there.
Lane lands a lovely overhand right.
Lane cracks Lopez with a hook to the temple - Lopez is on wobbly legs here! Lane swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Lopez falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Lane wins by TKO!
