Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hart might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hart Attack by Jim Jonathan. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Hart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will Whyte!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hart tries to keep at a distance but Whyte has taken the fight into the clinch.

Whyte pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hart fails to land the takedown.
Hart shoots in but no luck this time.
Hart shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whyte as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Hart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hart is looking to clinch.
Hart closes this distance looking for a takedown but Whyte circles away.
Whyte throws a series of punches but Hart moves out of range.
Hart tries to clinch there but Whyte circles away.

Whyte closes the distance and pushes Hart back into the cage.
Hart wants a takedown but no success here.
Hart wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Hart.

Whyte's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hart cracks a nice hook into Whyte's ribs.
Whyte shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hart as he avoids it easily.
Whyte swinging wilding here.

Hart decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Whyte is looking to control Hart's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Whyte avoid being mounted?
Whyte wants to improve his position but Hart is controlling well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Whyte is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Whyte tries to clinch up but Hart circles away and keeps his distance.
Hart misses with a takedown attempt

and Whyte counters with a shoot takedown. Hart fights it but they end up in guard.
Whyte controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hart is breathing heavily.

Whyte wants to pass the guard but Hart is keeping the position.
Hart throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Whyte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hart trying to control the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Whyte is stalling in the full guard.

Hart working for a triangle but Whyte defends it easily.
Whyte showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nice takedown defense from Hart. No joy for Whyte on that attempt.
A punch combination from Whyte misses.
Whyte tries to clinch but Hart moves out of range.
Hart misses with a two punch combination.
Whyte tries to clinch up but Hart circles away and keeps his distance.
Whyte fails with the takedown
and Hart counters with a three punch combo that has Whyte backing up. Whyte nods at Hart to acknowledge the strikes.
Hart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whyte circles away from the clinch attempt.
Whyte avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whyte wants to clinch.
Hart moves out of range as Whyte strikes.

Hart tries to clinch there but Whyte circles away.
Hart takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Whyte shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense.
George Hart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Whyte.
Whyte slips a jab and a cross from Hart.

Hart moves into the clinch.
Hart wants to get back to striking at distance but Whyte won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Whyte breaks from the clinch.

Whyte gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hart looking for a takedown.
Hart stops a takedown attempt from Whyte.
Hart changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Whyte fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Whyte fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hart sprawls well initially but Whyte persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Whyte content to control rather than advance.
Hart wants to get back to full guard.
Well, if Whyte is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hart throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whyte moves nicely into side control.
Hart is letting Whyte control him for a moment.
Hart prevents Whyte from moving into mount.
Whyte moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Whyte decides to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Whyte fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Whyte thuds a left hand into Hart's body.
Whyte tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hart paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Whyte shoots in and bounces Hart off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Whyte controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Whyte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hart wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hart tries to score a body lock takedown but Whyte shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Whyte escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hart tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Whyte counters with a single leg into guard. Hart didn't expect that.
Whyte controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Whyte missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Whyte stands up from Hart's guard - Whyte perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hart stuffs the takedown attempt from Whyte. Whyte gets slowly back to his feet.
Whyte throws a push kick but Hart slaps the foot to one side.
George Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hart keeps Whyte at a distance using the push kick.
Hart wants to clinch but Whyte slips to the side

so Whyte counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Whyte's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Whyte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Whyte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Whyte scoring with some ground and pound.
Whyte is looking to stand up but Hart won't let him.

Hart is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hart being controlled here, momentarily.

Whyte wants to pass the guard but Hart is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whyte controls the pace.
George Hart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Whyte trying to control but Hart is working from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Will Whyte comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Whyte has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
