PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Prince (ranked 1671 p4p, 209 weight class) and Craig Mckean (ranked 1451 p4p, 183 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Craig Mckean was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricky Prince!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Craig Mckean!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prince shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mckean pinned against the cage. Mckean gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Prince is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mckean sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Prince on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mckean throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Prince stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Mckean looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Prince has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Prince shoots in looking for a takedown. Mckean tries to sprawl out of it but Prince keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mckean manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Mckean counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Prince shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Mckean might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Prince is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Mckean has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Prince. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Prince has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Craig Mckean dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ricky Prince decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
