Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hakuna Matata (ranked 3118 p4p, 169 weight class) and John Flowers (ranked 4353 p4p, 217 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matata swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Matata misses with an uppercut. Flowers saw that one coming.
Matata looks to land a right hand but Flowers moved out of range.
We've been told by Matata's head coaches at Island Training Centre that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Flowers looks to score with a jab to the body but Matata is just out of range.
Flowers throws a body kick that misses.
Matata wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Flowers throws a right hand that Matata ducks under and follows up with a left that Matata also avoids with ease.
Flowers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Flowers gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Matata.
Flowers lets loose with a powerful body kick. Matata will feel that in the morning.
Hakuna Matata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Matata throws an overhand right that lands on Flowers's shoulder, as Flowers tries to avoid the shot.

Matata slips a jab and a cross from Flowers.

and Matata counters by clinching up.
Matata scores with a nice hook to the head.
Flowers is rocked!
A nice left hand lands by Matata.
Flowers is still on wobbly legs! Can Matata finish him?
Flowers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Matata lands on the inside with an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Flowers is looking to break free of the clinch but Matata has double underhooks.
Matata lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Flowers backwards.
Matata presses Flowers against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Matata lands a nice uppercut.
Matata creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Flowers with a big uppercut! Flowers tries to clinch up but Matata pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Flowers to the mat! Flowers covers up and Matata unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hakuna Matata!
