Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Viking Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickson has chosen SMC Hoodrats as his entrance music. George Dickson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Dickson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickson moves in looking to clinch but Fighter pushes him off.
Dickson tries to clinch but Fighter moves out of range.
Dickson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Dickson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fighter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dickson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fighter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dickson shoots in for a takedown but Fighter shows good takedown defense.
George Dickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dickson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dickson wanted to stand there but Fighter had control of the position.

Dickson wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving.
Fighter wants to sweep but no luck.

Fighter wriggles free and stands up.
Dickson throws a head kick that Fighter semi-blocks.
Horrible takedown by Dickson or perhaps it was just good defense by Fighter which made him look bad.
Viking Fighter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Dickson.
Dickson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Dickson fails with the takedown.

Fighter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dickson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dickson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dickson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fighter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dickson circles away quickly and effectively.
Dickson wants to clinch.
Dickson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Dickson looks for a takedown but Fighter sprawls well.

Fighter throws a predictable looking body shot
and Dickson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fighter looks to land a left hand but Dickson moved out of range nicely.

Fighter throws a hook but Dickson avoids it easily.

Dickson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fighter is fending him off so far but Dickson persists. Nope, Fighter circles away and we're back to standing.

Fighter thows a left - swing and a miss!

Dickson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fighter swings away with an uppercut that misses.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fighter throws an elbow but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Dickson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dickson tries to close the distance and clinch but Fighter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dickson slips under a jab from Fighter.

Dickson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fighter!
Fighter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fighter is looking to improve his position but Dickson isn't that keen on the idea.
Dickson tries to control but Fighter wriggling away.

Dickson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fighter is surviving well by controlling Dickson's body position as best he can.
Fighter holds on for dear life.

Dickson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Fighter is working to get back to half guard.
Dickson controlling his opponent.
Fighter is trying to escape the mount.
Dickson wants to control the pace but Fighter is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dickson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Dickson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fighter has worked his arm free - good work by Fighter!
Fighter is not content to let Dickson control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter parries the strikes from Dickson easily there. Dickson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Fighter to escape.

Fighter is trying to get back to half guard.
Dickson wants to control but Fighter is keeping him busy.
Dickson throws an elbow but Fighter slips to the side and avoids it well.
Fighter is not content to let Dickson control the position.
Fighter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dickson on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter looks to throw a body kick
and Dickson counters with a good low kick that Fighter was not able to check.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dickson shoots for a double leg takedown but Fighter sprawls well. He's pushed Dickson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dickson connects with a solid leg kick.
Dickson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fighter's waist but Fighter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dickson off to one side.
Fighter throws a lazy head kick
and Dickson counters with a good, hard body kick but Fighter shrugs it off.
Fighter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dickson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fighter gets full guard.
Dickson tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter is retaining full guard.
Fighter pulls Dickson in close to prevent any damage.
Dickson trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Dickson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Dickson lands with a slapping head kick.
Dickson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Fighter will feel that in the morning.
Dickson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fighter circles away.

Fighter gets caught flat footed, as Dickson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Dickson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dickson wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving.
Fighter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dickson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fighter is trying to control Dickson's posture but Dickson avoids it.
Fighter is looking to regain half guard here but Dickson keeps moving and retains side control.
Fighter is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fighter can't do much from the bottom here.
Dickson misses with the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dickson is looking to clinch but Fighter is avoiding it.

Fighter keeping moving, preventing Dickson from controlling successfully.

Fighter managing to control the position.
Dickson wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving.
Dickson tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter is retaining full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dickson clinches but Fighter breaks the clinch

and Fighter counters with a shoot takedown. Dickson fights it but they end up in guard.
Fighter is stalling in the full guard.

Dickson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fighter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Viking Fighter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dickson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fighter stops Dickson from standing up.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to George Dickson.
Well Dickson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
