PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Jin Kazama (ranked 4305 p4p, 413 weight class) and Tong Po (ranked 24972 p4p, 566 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tong Po!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po throws a poor cross that misses
and Kazama makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Po throws a leg kick but Kazama checks it.
Kazama throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Po's head.

It looks like Tong Po has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Po 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kazama connects with a high kick.
Jin Kazama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Po misses with a hook to the body
and Po takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kazama moves out of range of the strikes.

Kazama moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kazama lands a head kick that bluckles Po and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Kazama no doubt looking to push for a finish!

Po has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kazama finds it's way round the side to connect with Po's head.

Po's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kazama connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Po scrambles back to his feet.

and Kazama counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Po is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Tong Po decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
