The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mardle ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
De Souza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mardle as he jumps to the side.
De Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mardle swivels and escapes.
Mardle tries to sprawl but De Souza drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mardle pushes De Souza off and gets back to his feet.
Mardle lands the left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mardle connects with a body shot that sends De Souza's belly button to the back.
De Souza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
De Souza takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
De Souza moves nicely into side control.
De Souza is trying to get an arm triangle but Mardle is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Souza goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mardle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in De Souza's guard! Nice work there by Mardle!

De Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mardle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mardle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
De Souza is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mardle is aware though and is defending well.
De Souza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mardle manages to get himself to full guard.
De Souza drops back looking for a leg! Mardle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mardle manages to kick De Souza off! De Souza jumps back into Mardle's guard.

Marcos De Souza tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
