Nice shot lands for Pickett.
It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Smith blocks a jab.
Pickett takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pickett circles away quickly and effectively.
Pickett misses with a hook.
Pickett throws a jab when Smith was well out of range.
Smith slips a straight right by Pickett.

and Pickett counters with a nice uppercut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith throws a hook but Pickett avoids it easily.
Pickett throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Pickett rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Pickett cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith takes a swing at Pickett's ribcage but misses.

Pickett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Pickett is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Smith throws a series of punches but Pickett moves out of range.
Pickett lands a really nice looking cross but Smith seems unphased.
Pickett scores with a punch to the head.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pickett sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice jab there from Pickett.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pickett, as that shot connected.
Pickett drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Pickett waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Smith is rocked!
Pickett throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pickett is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Pickett drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Smith right on the button. Smith goes down! Pickett follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Pickett gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Pickett!
Marcus Pickett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
