Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geyhard Gones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Geyhard Gones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Geyhard Gones!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gones stuffs the takedown attempt from Freitas. Freitas gets slowly back to his feet.

Gones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gones lands in his opponent's guard.

Freitas is looking for a triangle but Gones pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Freitas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Freitas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gones's back instead.
Freitas thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Freitas looking to break Gones's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Gones remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Freitas will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
