The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell throws a body punch but Jantunen moves out of range.
Mitchell looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mitchell tries to clinch up but Jantunen circles away and keeps his distance.
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jantunen closes the distance and clinches.

Jantunen throws a knee to the head but misses.

Mitchell using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jantunen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitchell wants to sweep but no luck.
Jantunen stands and throws Mitchell's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jantunen wants to free his trapped foot but Mitchell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jantunen is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mitchell defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Jantunen is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mitchell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jantunen gets his way!

Jantunen is looking to sinch up a triangle. Mitchell throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jantunen's body to avoid the submission. Jantunen has instead reached around Mitchell's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jantunen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
