Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Shepard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Massif Dong!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Shepard.
Dong throws a nice looking combination but Shepard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shepard closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dong is trying to stand.
Shepard with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shepard moves into full mount! Dong won't be happy about that!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shepard controlling the position easily from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shepard connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Shepard dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Dong misses with a series of wild punches.

Shepard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dong sprawls well initially but Shepard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dong wants to get back to his feet.
Shepard slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dong pushes Shepard off looking to stand but Shepard dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shepard keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Alan Shepard just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Dong pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dong is breathing heavily.
Dong misses the jab.

Shepard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shepard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Shepard dominated that second round.
That's time! Shepard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Shepard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shepard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shepard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dong for as long as he can get away with.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dong takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shepard passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shepard is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alan Shepard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shepard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
